I Love My Puppers: Bath Time and DIY Flea Collars
Fleas and ticks are major pest around our wooded cul-de-sac. And it's no fun for our pups either so we searched for a natural remedy to keep them comfortable during flea and tick season during the summer months.
Our routine for them at bath time is a five or so drops of Neem oil and Tea Tree oil in their bath water plus peppermint soap I make for them.
Tea Tree and Neem oil seemed to repel the fleas and ticks last year so we are doing it again this year but taking it a step further...

DIY -anti-Flea and tick Collars
In addition to oils we use at bath time I thought we can't have to much protection ...right.
So this spring, I made a couple flea collars for them, out of store bought collars, just in case for added protection.
....place their regular fabric dog collars in a plastic bag,
....pour about ten drops of Neem oil and five drops or so of Tea Tree oil in the bag...
(or maybe pour it directly on the collar)
....shake, coating the entire collar....
....and hang to dry before putting them on the dogs....
and that's it . I plan on repeating this process once or twice through the summer or as long as the fragrance of the oils remain, washing before each application.
Happy Puppers!
Happy owners !
